HIFI raised $37 million to expand its stablecoin payments business and marketplace.

What's the capital this time

Stablecoin infrastructure company HIFI has just closed a $37 million Series A funding round led by Left Lane Capital. CEO Zach Walsh revealed to Cointelegraph that this is the firm's first fixed-price (priced) fundraising round, but did not disclose the value of the company after the investment.

HIFI raised $37 million to expand its stablecoin payments business and marketplace.

Walsh also noted that currently HIFI generates business through its platform at a rate of approximately 7 billion dollars per year when considered as an annual rate (annualised volume).

Why do you have to pay now? What's the number saying?

While the overall cryptocurrency market is experiencing strong growth, data from Chainalysis indicates that in the 12 months ending June 2026, cross-border stablecoin transfers increased by 77.5% to $220.3 billion.

This reflects a key trend: payments and monetary assets are increasingly moving onto blockchains, creating the need for centralized systems that connect blocks to banking systems which is HIFI's business.

What can HIFI do?

The basic architecture of HIFI helps customers to: - Build a secure network.

  • Putting dollars in and out of stablecoins.
  • Send money through the U.S. bank system and credit cards
  • The cash portion of the repo business and U.S. Treasury bonds that are converted into tokens in dollars

Walsh said that this round of funding will be used to expand the token-like capital market infrastructure and expand stablecoin payment products globally.

Highlights: Working with DTCC at BlackRock and Goldman Sachs

In July, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) began testing real-world transactions with token securities covering several market functions: settlement of bond and repo accounts; delivery versus payment; stock buying and selling; securities lending; and security work using assets held in a Depositary Trust Company that had been converted into a token agent.

HIFI is one of over 30 companies participating in the trial, along with big names such as BlackRock , Goldman Sachs and Nasdaq. DTCC plans to launch its tokenization service in October.

Connect with Visa Direct and send money to cards around the world

HIFI also extends to card payments with Visa Direct. Customers can convert USDC and send money to debit cards and Visa credit cards listed worldwide, according to information on the company's website

On September 9, Visa revealed that in the second quarter of its fiscal year, there were more than 160 stablecoin-linked card programs actually operating around the world. Payments through these programs increased by nearly 200% year over year. Additionally, total transactions with Visa's stablecoins grew at an annual rate of $2 trillion, or 15 times higher than a year earlier.

How does it relate to users in Thailand and Myanmar?

The case of HIFI reflects that a new payment channel is being created at the institutional level for users in the region, which takes into account cross-border money transfers and near market value comparisons. The fact that this infrastructure provider has expanded its capital may mean an increased conversion channel USDC to cash or cards in the future.
