The seed phrase recovery code (also known as the mnemonic phrase or recovery phrase ) is a set of 12 or 24 words that are automatically generated when users create their first digital wallet. This set includes the personal key information code ( private key ) required for accessing and recovering such wallets on any hosted software.
The owner of a redemption code is considered to have full control over the funds in that wallet. It is therefore considered to be the single most sensitive piece of information for self-custody of crypto assets. Users should record this on paper and store it online at a secure location, not print it on any website, and avoid disclosing it to anyone who claims it needs to be used for "identity verification" or "troubleshooting", since legitimate service providers will never ask users for this type of information.
