According to a report from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office and Coroner, Hsin-Ju Chuang, former partner of venture capital firm Digital Hack VC has died at age 37.
Officials from the California Highway Patrol searched a site on Interstate 15 south of Field Road on November 24 and found that Chuang died at the scene. However, officials have not yet disclosed the cause of death to the public. Cointelegraph has contacted the California highway patrol for more information but had received no response as of press time.
From Chuang's LinkedIn profile information, she is the founder of Dystopia Labs and previously held head development positions at Stellar and Solana before joining Hack VC as a venture partner in 2021 and being promoted to Partner and Head of Platform by 2025.
Alexander Pack, co-founder and managing partner of Hack VC said on Wednesday that the company was shocked and saddened by Chuang's departure and sent condolences to her family, friends and loved ones.
Pack noted that the company had not communicated with Chuang directly for more than 10 months and did not know details about the circumstances leading up to her death. "We don't have any further information", he added, "and we only hope everyone will respect those who are grieving at this time".
Prior to her death, Chuang had made public allegations that Hack VC treated her unfairly while working at the company, stating she intended to release evidence in support of such claims.
