What is DeFi ?
DeFi ( decentralized finance ) or zero-distribution finance is a financial service such as lending, insurance, trading and yield that operates through virtual contracts ( smart contracts ) on the blockchain rather than by banks or securities firms.
The main difference is that users do not need to submit documents for opening an account with any financial institution, but instead interact with the open source code directly through a crypto wallet ( crypto wallet ).
What are the most common patterns in DeFi ?
- Manufacture in which all the materials used are classified within a heading other than that of the productThis is a zero-distributed token exchange platform that doesn't have to go through an intermediary.
- Protocols for borrowing: Users deposit assets to receive interest or borrow assets using the asset as collateral
- Stablecoin ( stablecoins ): Cryptocurrency designed to be priced against currencies such as the US dollar fiat
Since most of the code behind it is open source, anyone can check how each protocol works.
DeFi How do they differ from traditional currencies?
Structural differences have three main characteristics:[clarification needed][citation needed]
- The market is open 24 hours. There's no time to act like a bank.
- No need to open an account with any institution With just your wallet, you can get there.
- Full transparency All business history is recorded on the blockchain and can be audited
All of these are structural features of the system, not guarantees that it will make a profit.
DeFi What are the risks that newcomers should be aware of?
- Book or channel in a virtual contractIt can make all the money you've deposited disappear.
- There is no deposit insurance.Unlike bank deposits that are secured by the institution, assets in DeFi have no guarantor.
- High pressureAsset prices used in the DeFi system can rise sharply.
