Vitalik Buterin suggests that Hegotá may have been the last normal separation of Ethereum .

Hecota, year 2027: the last regular upgrade of ethereum before computer encryption.

What is this?
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum ( Ethereum ), said on Sunday that the Hegotá planned for 2027 may be the last regular network upgrade before development moves to more complex technologies such as recursive STARKs, automated formal verification, optimized consensus algorithms and quantum-safe encryption.

He explains that hectoTrend is the last upgrade where features and technology are still easily understandable to people who have been familiar with Ethereum since 2015, or in other words, it's the end of an era when networks were still running on the original memory that ordinary users could compare against previous architectures.

Vitalik's post sparked a debate over how much computation and status should be moved out of the chain, and what Ethereum itself should store directly on the chain.

What is PeerDash, and why was it a start?
One of the examples Vitalik gave was PeerDAS, which is a mechanism that allows programs to check for readiness by randomly sampling some data instead of downloading it all.

Vitali said that Pierdas was the beginning of Ethereum's transition from just a blockchain to something much more powerful. The idea he put forward is for the network to move into a cryptographic world computer based on mathematical proof, rather than dictating every download and repeated transaction.

How would the new structure work?
The architecture Vitalik is talking about combines blockchain with encryption proofing, privacy protection and a decentralized out-of-chain component. Rather than allow all of the data to be stored and processed in one place, Ethereum may have two functions: an outside chain that performs some computation or storage, and a main layer that monitors performance, transacts, and maintains access to shared state on the chain.

This change will greatly affect how applications are built on Ethereum, where developers can move complex computation out of the virtual contract and send proofs or bindings back to validate on the core network.

What do the experts say?
Barnabé Monnot, an Ethereum researcher, believes that moving computing out of the chain with bindings and proofs on chains will reduce network load and make programming really lightweight. However, he warns that a well-functioning global computer should store key data that applications rely on directly in the chain because it allows users to see what is happening and interact with the application without needing servers or external intermediaries.

Cryptographic, the pseudonymous author, points out that such an architecture could extend the boundaries of zero-distributed money (DeFi) because more complex computations can now be performed outside a virtual contract. At the same time, Ethereum also insists on ensuring that the system still follows rules; for example, lending firewalls may isolate key collateral analysis steps, specify account settlement routes and pair borrowers with lenders in part, then use ethereum chains to verify and transact transactions when necessary.

Gabriel Shapiro, a crypto lawyer, questions how much the market needs evidence-based systems compared to traditional financial systems that rely on reputation, regulation and law enforcement.

Why is this news for users in Thailand and Myanmar?
For Thai users who follow Ethereum or hold digital assets linked to the network through platforms regulated by the SEC (Thailand) such as Bitkub , network-level upgrades can affect program maintenance costs, network speeds, API design and mechanisms used by the platform for monitoring transactions. Users should therefore keep track of announcements from the Ethereum development team and from the platform itself directly.

In the case of users in Myanmar accessing Ethereum through cross-border infrastructure, similar changes may reflect a changed user experience such as transaction authentication, account status access and less or more depending on application design.

Additional territory to watch out for.
Vitalik also previously shared the prioritization of a new Lean Ethereum (Lean Ethereum strawmap) plan, which reflects that the community is debating how to preserve network simplicity amid ever more sophisticated proof-of-work technologies. In addition, talking about automated pattern checking ties in with the question of how artificial intelligence will make monitoring possible in practice.

What's clear is that the Hecota 2027 is still an upgrade that users familiar with ethereum from 2015 might understand, but after that, it may enter into a period where every concept and every business has been replaced by systems using more random data verification, on-chain proofing, and off-chain computation.

A word of caution.
