The wallet was flagged as belonging to bankruptcy asset FTX and Alameda Research has transferred ( ETH ) a maximum of 27,373 units, or about US$75 million, to crypto market maker Wintermute according to data from two blockchain analysts.
PeckShieldAlert reports a business transaction that transferred 23,639 units worth approximately $65 million from locations marked as belonging to Alameda Research and collapsed FTX properties into Wintermute's wallet on Wednesday morning. While an analyst at EmberCN noted via post on X that there had been a total of 27,372 transfers, all six wallets went through the same location by Ember.
The difference in numbers between the two analysts is due to PeckShield's alert capturing single transactions with the highest value, while EmberCN considers multiple transfers combined into one. The largest transaction was a transfer of 23,639 units to a location labeled "Wintermute" on Etherscan .
The transfer of assets to the market maker or platform OTC may be an indication that the holder plans to sell or hedge a large investment position without sending it directly to the central exchange. However, the transfer information cannot confirm whether Wintermute has already sold this amount of ether or if the transfer is in preparation for repayment of debts to its owners at all
