MultiversX rebuilt the block on day 24 after a break from attack: Kraken still limited to order EGLD
MultiversX is back to building blocks, but it's not equal on the platform.
MultiversX stated in an official statement that the mainnet re-established blocks on day 24 after a downtime from attempted hacking. The developer team has installed upgrades for network recovery and completed verification, allowing users to return to normal use of the network.[1]
The point is that the return of Mainnet does not mean all trading platforms will be open at once. MultiversX warns that opening times may differ in each trading platform, so positions on the main network and position on the trading board may also move out of sync initially.
How important is this to EGLD 's owners and users?
EGLD is a token of the MultiversX network, and it's often traded through multiple exchange platforms. When the mainnet goes down, ordinary users may see several layers of impact: sending transactions over the network, accessing applications connected to the network as well as depositing or withdrawing tokens on the trading platform.
The network's re-establishment of blocks is seen as confirmation that the MultiversX core mechanism has been restored to working order, but for users holding assets on trading platforms, the actual status of services may still be controlled by individual tabs such as opening orders, matching orders, deposits and withdrawals, which may require confirmation from each platform.
Kraken is still in the process of reversing its original order.
Kraken states in its latest status announcement that the merchant EGLD is still only able to undo previously placed orders, which means users can undo any order they've already placed but not open new ones and no new pairings have been made.
Additionally, Kraken notes that deposits and withdrawals of EGLD are still blocked. This situation directly affects users because even though the MultiversX network is back in service, people who have EGLD , on Kraken , may not be able to deposit or withdraw from the platform immediately, and those who haven't opened new orders cannot trade normally until the platform changes its status.
How should Kraken users understand this situation?
Cancellation status is a mechanism commonly used by platforms when they want users to manage pending orders but are not yet ready for the full new order pairing system. Users may see their original orders canceled, but will not see an opening for placing new orders or new sell orders in pairs EGLD .
If a user is waiting to deposit or withdraw EGLD on Kraken , the blocked status means that the platform has not received any deposits or withdrawal orders at that time, so users should follow the announcement of Kraken for a period and should not interpret that the network MultiversX back in operation equals Kraken . Open full service immediately.
What should the average user be looking out for?
MultiversX 's announcement states that the network is back to normal, but the return of services on each platform may have a different rhythm. Users who trade on local or foreign platforms should check their own platform statements directly because some may open withdrawals first, others may open only new orders first, or they may also temporarily restrict certain services.
For users who post transactions on the mainnet, re-building blocks signals that the core network is up and running again; for users holding assets on a trading board, its status determines when they can be deposited, withdrawn, bought or sold.
What's important to know is that network status and platform status are two different things. Even though MultiversX was able to resume blogging on the 24th, according to its announcement, Kraken still restricted trading pairs for EGLD and continued to block withdrawals, making it necessary for users to separate their listings from those of other affiliates.
It's a warning.
