What's this about?

Michael Saylor, CEO and co-founder of Strategy Inc., the Bitcoin th largest shareholder in a publicly traded company worldwide, posted on X Saturday that the age of digital assets and artificial intelligence should have a "bill of digital rights" instead of restrictive regulation.

Why does it matter?

Saylor explains that AI technology can dramatically increase productivity, but it will only be most beneficial when better monetary and capital markets are in place. He suggests that as digital intelligence replaces human labor and makes many products obsolete, future wealth depends on the ability to create new businesses and opportunities faster; his proposed goal is "to enable 10 million new companies to raise capital".

The five proposed rights.

Saylor breaks down the basic rights for digital assets as follows:[citation needed]

  1. Freedom to create. We can create new digital assets.
  2. Freedom to distribute. He offered to sell those assets in the marketplace to raise capital for his business and increase productivity.
  3. The right to possess. You can collect your assets or choose a custodian.
  4. Right to transfer. Transferring assets between individuals, companies, digital wallets and service providers.
  5. Right to use. We spend, invest, generate income and put our assets into collateral for loans.

He emphasized that these rights must be enforceable against both individuals and corporations, stating: "The value of an asset depends on what the owner can do with it. To limit its use is to limit its economic potential".

The latest move by Strategy.

While pushing for digital rights, Strategy itself returned to buying Bitcoin after a two-week hiatus with Cointelegraph reporting on Monday that the company bought an additional 950 units worth $75.7 million at an average price of $79,670 per coin.

This purchase left Strategy's total assets at 846,000 BTC , valued at approximately $63.8 billion, at an average capital cost of $75,416 per coin while the market price for Bitcoin was around $84,523 at press time.

Note to readers in Thailand and Myanmar

The concept of rights to own and transfer digital assets is directly relevant for users in the region, such as Thai investors doing business through the SEC (Thailand) Thailand's regulatory framework and local digital financial institutions like Bitkub , as well as users in Myanmar who use digital assets in their daily lives.

Saylor's message comes at a time when Strategy has been compared to the failing dot-com era, with questions about whether history will repeat itself.

It's a warning.

This article is merely a collection and collation of information, not an investment advice in any way. The price of digital assets are highly volatile and can rise or fall rapidly to cause total loss. Readers should carefully study the data, consider their own acceptable risks, and make informed decisions before investing each time.
