It's not the entire size of the token market.

This type of bond reference asset may look similar on the trading screen, but underneath it varies by issuer, network and financial rights so that its value262.4 in millions of U.S. dollars thus reflects spending inDeFi more than the total value of outstanding token stocks.

Distributed networks, not just one platform.

In the Solana follow-up figure, there was an estimated ratio of 95.9 million US dollars to Robinhood Chain's estimated 79.9 million USD. The one reported by Base is in the vicinity of $16 million USD, so growth has been distributed across multiple networks rather than resulting from any single trading platform or layer 2.

From possession to collateral.

When tokens can be traded in an automated market or collateralized, investors have a new way to use their existing positions for financial transactions, but this comes with protocol risks and loopholes that are not typical of traditional brokerage accounts.

Rights are not the same for all tokens.

The important thing is not to assume that every token represents direct ownership of the original stock, because rights, redemption mechanisms and eligibility requirements for holders vary by issuer.
