BTC's IFP index is above its 90-day average: What does this signal tell readers?
What's the IFP of BTC?
The Interexchange Flow Pulse (IFP) is a networked indicator that tracks the flow of movements.BTC Between spot and differential trading, when the pulse reverses above the 90-day moving average line again on 25th, it is considered to be a change in the flow compared with the previously estimated period averages. It has been below the 90 day line for some time but this reversal does not mean that prices will go up or down immediately.
Why is the 90-day average used as a frame?
The 90-day moving average line removes the daily fluctuations, showing a mid-range trend. When one value crosses above such a line, technical analyst CW8800, often referred to as Golden Cross, who authored an article certified by CryptoQuant, states that IFP'sBTC emergence of a Golden Cross with a 90 day moving average lines indicates[2] that inflows into derivatives are higher than the 90 day averages, reflecting increased capital inflow.[3]
What does flow into a differential equation mean?
A derivative board is not only a storeBTC for the long term, but also where traders open futures positions or other similar contracts.BTC More flows into such boards may mean that traders are putting coins as collateral or preparing to open positions, but it's not necessarily always a sale. IFP is therefore an image of cross-board activity rather than a buy or sell order on any one board.
Impact on Thai readers and the region
Readers in Thailand who track prices as THB on boards licensed by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) such as Bitkub should distinguish that IFP is global flows data, not a direct indicator of Thai boards' liquidity. Prices in Thailand may also differ from world markets due to fees, price differentials and local liquidities; readers in Myanmar or neighboring countries who might access cross-border services through digital channels should check local legal restrictions and account opening requirements before using any information.
Be careful reading this.
An IFP signal exceeding 90 days and an above-average derivative flow is a piece of data, not the answer to price direction. Without component information such as the size of open positions in derivatives, capital ratios or withdrawal rates from boards, one should not conclude that markets are entering or exiting only on one side, so decisions should be based on investor preferences, acceptable risk levels and local regulations.
It's a warning.
